Knightdale had won six straight games and Ayomide Adewumi did her part to make it seven on Saturday. The Knightdale Knights strolled past the Wilson Prep Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 56-40 thanks in part to Adewumi, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game.

Leia Rios was another key player, putting up 11 points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Wilson Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janiya Johnson, who posted five points and 16 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Johnson has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Paris Best, who put up 11 points.

Knightdale's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Wilson Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightdale will face off against Apex at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilson Prep, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on KIPP P at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Prep is facing KIPP P at the right time seeing as KIPP P is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
