Baseball Game Preview: McBee Panthers vs. Dixie Hornets

The McBee Panthers will square off against the Dixie Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

If McBee beats Dixie with 12 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Lamar on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Dixie had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ware Shoals a 2-0 shutout on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Dixie has posted against Ware Shoals since April 8, 2025.

Dixie's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for McBee, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10-1.

McBee skirted past Dixie 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
