Preview: Vanlue Wildcats vs. Colonel Crawford Eagles
The Vanlue Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colonel Crawford Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vanlue will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 699th, while Colonel Crawford is ranked 116th).
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Vanlue, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to Riverdale. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vanlue in their matchups with Riverdale: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lexi Brooks, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Mara Simon, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Colonel Crawford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past Bucyrus 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Colonel Crawford has posted yet this season.
Vanlue has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Colonel Crawford, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
