Football Game Preview: Flinthills Mustangs vs. Yates Center Wildcats

Two dominant backs in Beau Hall and Marcus Cummings are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Flinthills Mustangs will be playing at home against the Yates Center Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Flinthills and four for Yates Center.

Flinthills lost 42-20 to Madison/Hamilton on Friday.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Yates Center's offense. They took a blow against Lyndon on Friday, falling 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

Flinthills' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Yates Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Flinthills beat Yates Center 40-28 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
