Volleyball Game Preview: Galileo Lions vs. Washington Eagles

The Galileo Lions will challenge the Washington Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Galileo is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 26th on Thursday. They came up short against Lincoln, falling 3-0. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Galileo was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Balboa.

While Washington ultimately came up short, they really made Balboa work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-11, 26-24.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Galileo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Galileo skirted past Washington 3-2 in their previous meeting on April 9th. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
