Softball Recap: Fruitvale Takes a Loss

Fruitvale lost against Como-Pickton last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fruitvale Bobcats lost 11-1 to the Como-Pickton Eagles. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenley Akins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.

Fruitvale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Como-Pickton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Coming up, Fruitvale will be playing in front of their home fans against Yantis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fruitvale has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Como-Pickton, they will venture away from home to square off against Cumby at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Como-Pickton's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
