Desert Edge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Mountain Pointe Pride for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-7 win. With that victory, the Scorpions brought their scoring average up to 27.6 points per game.

Desert Edge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Roskopf out in front who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to Aiden Honeywood, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Desert Edge proved: they limited Mountain Pointe to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Camren Hamiel stood above the rest. He picked up 0.5 sacks and made nine total tackles (2.5 for loss). Desert Edge didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.

Desert Edge's record is now 5-0. As for Mountain Pointe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Desert Edge will take on Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Scorpions 9.4, the Jaguars 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Mountain Pointe, they will challenge Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pride will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
