Baseball Recap: Verona Comes Up Short

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Marionville Comets. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Comets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Verona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Lechner, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Verona's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Marionville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Verona will take on Greenfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marionville, they will challenge Miller at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
