Basketball Recap: Riverview Gardens Takes a Loss

Riverview Gardens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Civic Memorial Eagles, falling 67-47.

August Frankford was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds for Civic Memorial. The dominant performance gave Frankford a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Piening, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Riverview Gardens' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Civic Memorial, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Riverview Gardens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-46 win against Marquette Catholic on the 29th. As for Civic Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-49 victory against Freeburg on the 29th.
