Recap: Washington Hatchets vs. Linton-Stockton Miners
The Washington Hatchets entered their tilt with the Linton-Stockton Miners with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Washington narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Linton-Stockton 45-42. For Washington, this counts as revenge for the 44-40 defeat Linton-Stockton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayleigh Cummins out in front who scored 8 points along with 8 assists. Katie Reed was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds.
Washington's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Linton-Stockton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Washington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Evansville Memorial at 6:30 p.m. As for Linton-Stockton, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Greene at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eastern Greene will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
