Marist entered their tilt with Woodward Academy on Thursday with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Woodward Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marist also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (59-57) Marist actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 15-12.

Marist found their leader in freshman Sawyer Straley, who had ten digs and two aces.

Despite the loss, Woodward Academy still got an impressive performance from Lotus Jiroch, who had eight digs and three aces.

Marist's victory bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Woodward Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 29-6.

Coincidentally, Marist and Woodward Academy will both be playing Blessed Trinity the next time they take the court. Woodward Academy will head out to face Blessed Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Marist will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
