Marist extended their winning streak to 19 on Thursday, bumping them up to 27-3. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Woodward Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Marist has posted since August 23rd.

Cora Thomas #16 paced Marist's offense, picking up 12 kills. Thomas #16 got some help from Katie Elder and her 19 assists. Sawyer Straley controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Woodward Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 29-6. They have struggled against Marist recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Woodward Academy lost, don't look at Lotus Jiroch. Despite the final result, she had eight digs and three aces. Leah Scantlebury also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
