Baseball Recap: Marmion Triumphs

Marmion's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers 4-3. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Luke Young tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Marmion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Schweiner, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Schweiner a new career-high.

Marmion's win bumped their record up to 17-11-1. As for Aurora Central Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12.

Marmion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
