It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Wabaunsee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Onaga Buffaloes 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted against the Buffaloes since March 25, 2021.

Isaac Meyer was a standout: he got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last six matches. Caden Frank also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wabaunsee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Wabaunsee's record is now 10-11. As for Onaga, they moved to 14-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Wabaunsee will be playing in front of their home fans against Council Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Onaga, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
