Softball Recap: Rancho Mirage Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

Rancho Mirage extended their postseason success on Saturday against Hesperia Christian. They were the clear victors by a 23-10 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Rattlers have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Anelisa Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off 11 hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Reyna Vergara was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alea (Nissi) Marquez, who went 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double.

Rancho Mirage has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Hesperia Christian, they moved to 14-8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Rancho Mirage will face off against Edgewood at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hesperia Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
