Baseball Recap: Valley Lutheran Takes a Loss

Valley Lutheran was the 8-3 winner over Ithaca when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Grimpo, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base.

Valley Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Ithaca, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Lutheran will head out to challenge Laker at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.57 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ithaca, they will head out on the road to square off against Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
