Softball Recap: Cyprus Comes Up Short

Cyprus has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.69 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the West Jordan Jaguars. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Cyprus got a good showing from Kalina Pena, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Cyprus' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for West Jordan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Cyprus will venture away from home to square off against Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The RedHawks will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Jordan, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hunter at 3:30 p.m. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
