Basketball Game Preview: Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) vs. Pearsall Mavericks

The Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) are taking a road trip to take on the Pearsall Mavericks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Uvalde has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 12.

On Friday, Uvalde was beaten by Somerset 78-38. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1233rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 281st).

Meanwhile, Pearsall hadn't done well against Floresville recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Pearsall pulled ahead with a 56-55 photo finish over Floresville.

Uvalde's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Pearsall, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Uvalde lost to Pearsall on the road by a decisive 61-45 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Uvalde avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
