Football Recap: Blanche Ely Takes a Loss

Blanche Ely was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Boyd Anderson Cobras. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Cobras are ranked 49th).

A big part of Boyd Anderson's win came down to the chemistry between Ariana Stoveall and her top target Jakira Dennis. Stoveall threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns while completing 87% of her passes while Dennis picked up 154 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Dennis a new career-high in receiving touchdowns.

Blanche Ely's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Boyd Anderson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blanche Ely will take on Nova at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nova's defense has only allowed 4.1 points per game this season, so Blanche Ely's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Boyd Anderson, they will square off against Pompano Beach at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Boyd Anderson 1.3, Pompano Beach 11.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
