 Campo Verde had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top against the Higley Knights by a score of  5-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Campo Verde also won the last time the pair played  back in March.
  Addison Gavigan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 17 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and not a single walk). Gavigan has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in five consecutive pitching appearances. Gavigan was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Gavigan wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Tamryn Tucker, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 On Higley's side,  Kyndal Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Paris Pinkston was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 Campo Verde is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record  this season. As for Higley, their defeat  ended  a  ten-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 16-7.
 Campo Verde will take on Casteel at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Campo Verde is facing Casteel at the right time seeing as Casteel is stuck on  an  18-game losing streak. As for Higley, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Casa Grande at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Higley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Casa Grande's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
