Basketball Recap: Marian Catholic's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marian Catholic had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes by a score of 63-50. Winning may never get old, but Marian Catholic sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Marian Catholic found their leader in sophomore Rocco Griguoli, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 22 rebounds. Griguoli has become a key player for Marian Catholic: the team is 9-4 when he posts at least ten boards, but 3-7 otherwise. Justin De La Cruz was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Marian Catholic now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Schuylkill Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
