Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Boone Schmidt stepped things up a notch to give Pomeroy the 'W'. Schmidt scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, which was good enough to set a new career-high in hits.

Looking ahead, Schmidt and Pomeroy will head out on the road to face off against Touchet at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates are 8-2 against the Redhawks going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
