5A District 5 recap October 29, 2013

Atrisco Heritage Academy took down Albuquerque 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jesus "Ricci" Alvidrez ran for 220 yards in the win.

The Jaguars led 5A District 5 in scoring this week by notching 53 points on the Bulldogs. Alvidrez ran for 220 yards during the win.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Aaron Bean threw for 101 and 1 touchdown and Martin Ortiz had 101 yards receiving.

Coach Johnson's team's dynamic duo of Bean and Ortiz proved tough for Albuquerque to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Alvidrez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Jaguars defeated Tim Garro's team. Alvidrez's key target this week was Ortiz, who caught 2 passes for 101 yards.

Alvidrez was a beast in the backfield as Atrisco Heritage Academy defeated the Bulldogs.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Valley's Bo Coleman and Aaron Molina have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Coleman has thrown for 1,612 yards this season, while Molina has 25 catches for 663 yards. The Jaguars' Alvidrez leads the league in rushing yards with 1,312.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Rio Grande takes on the Vikings. As it stands, the Ravens are in fourth, while Valley is in first.
