Mulvane and Independence are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Wildcats will square off against the Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Mulvane's tournament run continued when they took on Labette County on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 60-52 to the Grizzlies. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Independence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-36 victory over Circle on Thursday.

Independence pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Mulvane, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Mulvane didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Independence when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 77-71 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
