Basketball Game Preview: Grass Lake Warriors vs. Columbia Central Golden Eagles

The Grass Lake Warriors will challenge the Columbia Central Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grass Lake is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Grass Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Leslie, taking the game 63-51. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Columbia Central hadn't done well against Hanover-Horton recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Columbia Central was the clear victors by a 66-46 margin over Hanover-Horton. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Columbia Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Grass Lake, they pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Grass Lake strolled past Columbia Central when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 40-23. Will Grass Lake repeat their success, or does Columbia Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
