Softball Recap: Idaho Falls Comes Up Short

Idaho Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillcrest Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Olivia Cordon (Snow College) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Amaya Castaneda (2027), who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Idaho Falls' record is now 5-9. As for Hillcrest, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

While Idaho Falls had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
