Basketball Recap: Marcellus Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Marcellus won the last time they faced Institute of Tech and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Marcellus Mustangs walked away with a 71-61 victory over the Institute of Tech Eagles. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Eagles are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tucker Burnett was his usual excellent self, putting up 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Gosh-Sandy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Marcellus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Institute of Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Marcellus has already played their next matchup (against Westhill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Institute of Tech will look to defend their home court on Friday against Skaneateles at 6:30 p.m.
