Baseball Recap: Killian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Killian can now relate to. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Crest Panthers on Monday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zach Fernandez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Killian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Zeledon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Kevin Nunez was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Killian now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Pine Crest, their record now sits at 15-6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Killian beat the Panthers by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday.
