Football Recap: West Brunswick Finds Playoff Glory Versus West Johnston

With a playoff win on the line, West Brunswick rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the West Johnston Wildcats 35-6. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Josiah Borton threw for 133 yards and a pair of TDs. Jude Surigao was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Jaquell Davis rushed for 169 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

The win (which was West Brunswick's third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.7 points over those games. As for West Johnston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

West Brunswick will square off against Middle Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 40.2 points per game this season. West Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
