Volleyball Recap: Fenwick Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Fenwick and Montini Catholic, and Montini Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Friars fell 2-0 to the Broncos on Thursday. The Friars haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-14.

BELLA GRAY paced Fenwick's offense, picking up 12 kills. GRAY got some help from SOFIA GROSSMAN and her nine assists. EMMA KURE controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Montini Catholic found their leader in sophomore Hope Garland, who had 12 digs and four assists. Garland has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Moira Quirk also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Fenwick's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Montini Catholic, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10.

Coming up, Fenwick will square off against Riverside-Brookfield at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montini Catholic, they will take on St. Edward at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
