Preview: Greene County Wildcats vs. Raymond Rams
The Greene County Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Raymond Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greene County will be strutting in after a victory while Raymond will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Greene County made off with a 29-28 victory over Poplarville. The victory was just what Greene County needed coming off of a 46-13 loss in their prior game.
Greene County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Coby King out in front who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 168 yards and a touchdown. BJ Johnson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Raymond pushed their score all the way to 40 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Newport 44-40.
Greene County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Raymond, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
