Baseball Preview: Scottsburg Warriors vs. Seymour Owls
Scottsburg is 0-8 against Seymour since May of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors will challenge the Owls at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Scottsburg has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Monday, Scottsburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Brownstown Central.
Garrett McClellan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brandt Kendall was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Braden Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Scottsburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seymour, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Jennings County a 3-0 shutout on Monday.
Seymour pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Scottsburg, their record is now 11-3.
