Softball Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Davis Darts

The Farmington Phoenix will head out on the road to challenge the Davis Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Farmington took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Granger 20-4. The victory was some much needed relief for Farmington as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Davis stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They never let Layton onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. Winning may never get old, but Davis sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lauryn Hall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Jada Chilton was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Farmington back to even at 9-9. As for Davis, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Thursday's match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Farmington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Davis struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
