Football Recap: Poteet Victorious

Poteet lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wilson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 53-28 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. Considering the Pirates' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Wilson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Luke Walsh, who picked up 46 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Poteet's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wilson, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Poteet and Wilson will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Poteet will square off against rival Crandall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wilson is set to challenge their familiar foe Seagoville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
