Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Skates Past Lewiston with Ease

Sacred Heart won the last time they faced Lewiston and things went their way on Friday too. The Sacred Heart Irish simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lewiston Tigers 61-30. The Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Lewiston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Justice Currie posted 14 points. That's the most points Currie has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Delanye Currie, who put up seven points.

The victory made it two in a row for Sacred Heart and bumps their season record up to 20-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points over those games. As for Lewiston, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Sacred Heart will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lewiston: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
