Volleyball Recap: Century Takes a Loss

Century was the 2-1 winner over Cobden when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Centurions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Appleknockers on Wednesday.

Century was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Cobden work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 26-24.

Hayden Anderson paced Century's offense, picking up three kills. Anderson got some help from Jaicey Edwards and her two assists. Anderson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Century's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Cobden, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.

Century will be playing in front of their home fans against Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Cobden, they will head out to face off against Goreville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
