Volleyball Recap: Pickens Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Pickens entered their tilt with Travelers Rest on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Devildogs with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Flame, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pickens walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.

Natalie Hunter was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and three aces. What's more, she posted three assists, the most she's had over her last six matches. Chesney Yates also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Pickens was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in four consecutive contests.

Pickens' win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Travelers Rest, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Blue Ridge on the 25th. As for Travelers Rest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Seneca on the 25th.
