Ferndale dropped their record down to 6-8 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the South Fork Cubs. The Wildcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Cubs' pitcher proved too tough.

Ferndale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Gossi, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Gossi is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

As for South Fork, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On South Fork's side, Mackenzie Coleman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey SHepHerd, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: South Fork beat Ferndale by a score of 10-1 later that day.
