Brewster scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 94-87 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Omak Pioneers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (70), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Brewster's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Thomas Mccarthy, who went 10 of 22 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds, and Jacob Piechalski, who went 7 for 10 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Piechalski a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Preston Thompson, who went 6 for 11 en route to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Brewster was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Brewster's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Omak, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Brewster will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Okanogan at 7:30 p.m. Okanogan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Brewster likes a good challenge. Omak has already played their next match (against Bridgeport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
