Soccer Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville and Sunnyvale squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Gainesville had to settle for second. They lost 6-1 to Sunnyvale. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gainesville of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Their goal came courtesy of Jasmyn Jackson, who's now up to 27 this season.

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-3. As for Sunnyvale, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Gainesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sunnyvale has already played their next matchup (against Pinkston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
