Basketball Recap: Lyman Starts Season with Victory Against Manila

Lyman had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged the Manila Mustangs out 58-56. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teague Goodman, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and five steals. Goodman is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brackin Lail, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Manila fell to 4-1.

Lyman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-29 victory against Little Snake River on the 13th. Manila has also already played their next matchup, a 55-52 defeat against Big Piney on the 13th.
