Basketball Game Preview: Tuscarora Titans vs. Quince Orchard Cougars

The Tuscarora Titans will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Quince Orchard Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Tuscarora will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Tuscarora is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 54-42 to South Hagerstown on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Quince Orchard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-36 win over Gaithersburg on Friday.

Quince Orchard's win came from a few key players Tuscarora will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Evelyn Steele, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to six blocks and five boards. Steele is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridget Vandegrift, who posted 13 points.

Quince Orchard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Tuscarora's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Quince Orchard, their record now sits at 2-3.

Things could have been worse for Tuscarora, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-36 loss to Quince Orchard in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Tuscarora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
