The Ledyard Colonels will challenge the Griswold Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ledyard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Ledyard nor Stonington made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Colonels had just enough and edged out the Bears 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colonels.

Alexia Lemmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julia Bonser, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Faith Dalton, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ledyard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stonington struck out six times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Griswold). They put the hurt on Wheeler with a sharp 13-1 victory on Wednesday. The Wolverines not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2025 (when they won 20-1).
Aubrey Eliasson made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Eliasson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bella Bruno was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Madelynn Walters was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ledyard's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Griswold, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
Griswold's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ledyard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Griswold, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Ledyard's hitters?
Ledyard got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Griswold by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Colonels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
