Soccer Recap: Roncalli Catholic Falls Short Against Ranked Mount Michael Benedictine

Roncalli Catholic faced Mount Michael Benedictine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Crimson Pride fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mount Michael Benedictine this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Friday.

Jordan Martinez wasn't going to let Mount Michael Benedictine walk away unscathed as he scored both of Roncalli Catholic's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Roncalli Catholic and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Roncalli Catholic will take on Gross Catholic in a tournament on Thursday. Mount Michael Benedictine will be paying especially close attention to the Crimson Pride's match: after the Crimson Pride face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Mount Michael Benedictine again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
