Albemarle took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They snuck past the West Stanly Colts with a 52-47 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Defeat or not, West Stanly got some senior leadership from Kennedy Foxx and Scarlet Griffin. Foxx dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards, while Griffin posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lizzie Wallace, who earned 11 points and five rebounds.

Albemarle has already played their next matchup, a 53-21 loss against Forest Hills on the 18th. As for West Stanly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-16 defeat against Charlotte Latin on the 18th.
