 Denver Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They suffered a  rough 17-7 defeat at the hands of the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Denver Christian of the  15-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March of 2023.
  Asher Hawes was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with three  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.  Brayden Epperhart was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 On Blanchet Catholic's side,  Carson McNally made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   six  hits. McNally was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with four  RBI, a  stolen base,  and a  run.
 In other pitching news,  Sam Mosar looked comfortable as he  tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks).
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Tyson Smith, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Dylan Cuff, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Denver Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Blanchet Catholic,  the  victory  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-1.
 Denver Christian will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against McMinnville at 10:00  a.m. Denver Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.8  runs per game this season. As for Blanchet Catholic, they will head out on the road to  take on  Dayton at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Dayton: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Blanchet Catholic has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
