            Volleyball Recap: Lake Orion Dragons vs. Novi Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Lake Orion lost against Novi last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. The Dragons took  a  2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 Lake Orion was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the  first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23,  25-20.
 Izzy Lawhorn paced Lake Orion's offense, picking up eight kills. Lawhorn were helped by Sarah Traynoff and  Caitrin O'Rourke, who contributed eight assists each.  Ellie Kuhlman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
 Novi was led to victory by  Mallory Stoy and  Myla Bellavoine.  Stoy  had four  digs and four  aces, while  Bellavoine  had five  digs and one assist. That's the most  aces  Stoy has posted since back in August.
Lake Orion's loss dropped their record down to 16-21-1. As for Novi, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record  this season.
 Lake Orion has already played their next match,  a  2-1  win against Bloomfield Hills on the 11th. As for Novi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  2-1  defeat against Milford on the 11th.
