Baseball Recap: Coeur D'alene Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Coeur d'Alene proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Lake City Timberwolves 7-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 16, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Harrison Trunkey-Evans made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Bam Fenter was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Coeur d'Alene's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lake City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coeur d'Alene beat the Timberwolves by a score of 7-1 later that day.
