Baseball Recap: Pacific Ridge Takes a Loss

If Pacific Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Guajome Park Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firebirds lost 17-5 to the Rock Academy Warriors on Wednesday. The Firebirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Cal Chivers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Pacific Ridge is 5-1 when Chivers posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Miles Labovitch also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Pacific Ridge now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Rock Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

While Pacific Ridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
