            Baseball Recap: Union Area Scotties vs. Aquinas Academy Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Union Area won against Aquinas Academy  on Tuesday with eight  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Wednesday. The Scotties walked away with  an   8-4  win over the Crusaders. With that  victory, the Scotties brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.

 Cole Harper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Swayze Reighert was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Dom Cucitrone, who  went 1-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Union Area  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  matchups.
Union Area's record is now 5-7. As for Aquinas Academy,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-9.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Union Area is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Summit Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Aquinas Academy will  square off against  rival St. Joseph  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
